Hair

Hello all!
Soooooo I haven't blogged in months. I'm very sorry. My excuses will be moving, traveling, and  the holidays. So now it's 2015! And of course a resolution of mine is to stop being lazy, and blog more! So here I am!
Now thats all finished, let's get chatting. Today's post is about hair. Now I'm one of those people who tries really hard on my hair to make it healthy. After dying it red then slowly bleaching it back to blonde, then to chopping it off, I've learned to take really good care of it. Now I'm working on getting it to an ashy white color, and its been a process. I have an awesome hair stylist who refuses to bleach my entire head of hair, which I can honestly respect. She still wants me to have hair at the end of the day, so thats why everything have been a process. So in between visits, I do lots of hair treatments(easy and non expensive)to save it. I believe that hair is an investment. Especially if you bleach it, dye it, or just wanting to keep it strong. So in this post, I'll talk about products and tips to keep your locks strong, shiny, and gorgeous.

If you're blonde:
The big part about being blonde, is staying "straight out of the salon" blonde. The best product for this a purple shampoo. Purple is the opposite of yellow on the color wheel, so it keeps your hair from looking brassy. They make tons of different purple shampoos, the one I use is Joico Color Endure Violet Sulfate Free Shampoo. I use it every other time I wash my hair. Its important to not use it too much or your hair will turn purple. And some places offer purple conditioner. Its not necessary, the shampoo is all you need. Also after bleaching and frying your hair, make sure you are using something to keep your hair healthy, we'll get to that later.

If you dye your hair:
You HAVE to get a shampoo and conditioner that is for color treated hair, so that the color will last longer. Coming from a former (from a bottle) redhead, when you pay to have your hair colored you want to keep it that color for as long as you can. Also, wash your hair in cold water, it also helps keep your color in tact. If you can, wash your hair as less as you can. If you color your hair with crazy awesome colors, a tip is to put hair dye in your conditioner to keep the color looking vibrant!

When I'm not washing my hair with purple shampoo, I go back and forth between shampoos. Depending on what I'm focusing on as far as its health. Right now I'm using Mane and Tail….aka horse shampoo. It makes your hair strong and thicker. Other drugstore brands I suggest are Dove and TRESemme. Cheap but still effective. The conditioner I'm using is TRESemme Advanced Technology. Any of their products are effective, affordable, and overall wonderful!

Health:
Starting off, take your vitamins. Duh. But taking biotin that benefits hair, skin, and nails is a easy way to grow healthy hair.

Keep heat off of your hair as much as you can, unless you have a heat protectant, then feel free. Heat protectants are a must, so that you won't fry your hair. Just a few sprits can save a couple of inches off of your hair easily.
Leave- In treatments are one of my everyday vices. Especially my It's a 10 miracle leave in spray. 10 benefits that make your hair as beautiful as its ever been. Though it may be pricey, it literally takes helps in so many areas, that its worth the price.

Masks and treatments- there are millions of easy masks that you could do while your just hanging out at home. Grab some olive oil out of your cabinet, put it all over your hair, leave for about 30 minutes, then wash with your normal shampoo and conditioner. Then BOOM shiny and gorgeous hair. You could also do this with coconut oil. If you haven't heard of coconut oil yet, then here you go… your life has officially been changed. Coconut oil is great for hair, skin, and even cooking!
An at home treatment that i just recently did is one that I found on pintrest.
Shampoo your hair, get out of the shower. Put conditioner in hair(don't leave anything out, paying extra attention to the ends)wrap in a plastic bag, then take a warm towel( just pop a dry towel in the dryer right before you get in the shower so its warm by the time you step out after shampooing)and wrap it around your head like you are towel drying your hair. Leave for 15 minuets, in that time you can get on pintrest and look up One Tree Hill photos( I'm still not over the fact that its over). Get back in the shower and rinse it out. DO NOT SLEEP OVER NIGHT WITH THIS ON YOUR HEAD. If you followed these instructions, then you have soft and silky hair.

k, I'm done rambling.
Hope you have a great rest of your week.
Much love,
Kacie
